CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2017-18 was hosted by P S Senior Secondary School , Mylapore ,Chennai from 4th January 2018 to 6th January 2018. The exhibition was inaugurated on 4th January 2018 at 9.30am.The Chief guest for the function was Professor Rahul Siddharthan, an eminent computational biologist from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. In his inaugural address the chief guest spoke on the importance of developing a scientific temper and the need for popularizing science . He also hailed the contribution of eminent Indian scientists to Science and Society.
106 schools from Tamil Nadu participated in the exhibition displaying 190 exhibits. The main theme of the exhibition was “Innovations for sustainable development” and the six sub themes were Health and well–being , Resource management and food security , Waste management and water body conservation , Transport and Communication ,Digital and Technological solutions ,Mathematical modeling.. The Judges were drawn from premier institutes like Indian Institute of Technology, Anna University, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Vivekananda College, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Central Electro Chemical Research Institute.
The valedictory function of CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition was held at 3pm on 6th January 2018.
Dr Vanishree , Associate Professor, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, who was one of the judges was the Guest of Honour. She shared her insight about the project with the audience. The names of the 21 projects selected for the National finals were announced. The qualifying schools were given letters informing them of the same.
